1 Information We Do Not Collect

StateRelocator does not collect, transmit, store, or process the following:

• Your salary or income figures — entered only in your browser; never sent anywhere.
• Your state selections — used locally for calculation; not logged or recorded.
• Your name, email, or contact details — we have no account system or sign-up form.
• Your location — we do not request geolocation permissions.
• Financial account information — we have no payment processing or financial integrations.

2 Information We May Collect

Like virtually all websites, our web server may automatically receive standard technical information when your browser loads a page. This may include:

• IP address — used only for server-side security and abuse prevention; not linked to your calculations.
• Browser type and version — used in aggregate for compatibility purposes.
• Referring URL and pages visited — used in aggregate to understand which pages are most useful.
• Date and time of access — standard server log data.

3 How Your Salary Data Is Processed

All tax calculations, housing cost lookups, and disposable income estimates run entirely as JavaScript code inside your own web browser. The data flow is:

• You type a salary → JavaScript reads the value locally.
• You select states → JavaScript reads selections locally.
• Calculations are performed locally using pre-loaded data tables.
• Results are displayed in your browser.
• Nothing leaves your device.

If you use the "Copy Link" feature, your salary and state selections are encoded into the URL string in your browser. That URL is only shared if you actively copy and send it to someone. We do not receive or store URL parameters on our servers.

4 Cookies & Local Storage

StateRelocator does not set any cookies or use browser local storage to store your personal information or calculation inputs. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or persistent identifiers.

If we integrate analytics tools in the future (see Section 5), those tools may set their own cookies. We will update this policy if that occurs.

5 Third-Party Services

StateRelocator currently uses the following third-party services:

• Google Fonts — We load fonts (Playfair Display, DM Sans) from Google Fonts. This causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address per Google's own privacy policy.

We do not currently use analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics), advertising networks, or social tracking pixels. If this changes, we will update this policy prior to implementing any such tools.

6 Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party, with the following limited exceptions:

• Legal compliance — If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Protection of rights — To protect the safety, rights, or property of StateRelocator, our users, or the public.
• Business transfer — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data (to the extent any exists) would be part of transferred assets. We would notify users via a prominent notice on our site before any such transfer.

7 Data Security

Because we do not collect or store your salary inputs or personal financial information, the primary data security benefit is that there is simply no sensitive data on our servers to breach.

For standard server infrastructure, we follow industry best practices including HTTPS encryption for all traffic, access controls on server infrastructure, and regular review of security configurations.

8 Children's Privacy

StateRelocator is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will post a notice on the main calculator page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of StateRelocator after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
